NotePerformer is produced by Wallander Instruments, a small, independent music software company based in Stockholm, Sweden.
The company was founded by Arne Wallander, and is most notable for breaking new ground in virtual orchestral synthesis.
In 2006, the company launched with the release of the WIVI range of virtual instruments. WIVI was completely unique, being the first professional software synthesizer to attempt truly realistic synthesis of orchestral instruments using additive synthesis technology. Many of the secondary concepts that were more or less pioneered by WIVI are now a fundament of the modern orchestral sample library, such as graphical stage positioning, automatic divisi, phasing-free continuous dynamic control and integrated breath controller support.
Wallander Instruments was also one of the first professional music software companies to explore the mobile platform, adapting a range of its advanced Mac/PC virtual instrument technologies to iOS 2.0 back in 2008. The company's virtual instrument apps have been downloaded more than 2 million times.
The year 2013 saw the birth of NotePerformer, a software that in many ways is even more unique than WIVI. NotePerformer is an exploration of the outer borders of computer orchestration technology. It attempts the seemingly impossible challenge of providing not just the sound of a musical instrument, but the actual performance of it as well.
Thousands of composers, orchestrators and publishers use NotePerformer every day. It is used in the production of major concert works, for preparing live scores for Hollywood blockbusters and in helping composers take their work to the next level.
